WowKeren - Ajang penghargaan MTV Video Music Awards 2012 (MTV VMAs) yang berlangsung di LA Staples Center, Kamis, 6 September, menjadi malam tak terlupakan bagi One Direction. Pasalnya, boyband asal Inggris ini berhasil menyabet tiga penghargaan sekaligus, yaitu "Best Pop Video", "Most Share-Worthy Video" dan "Best New Artist" berkat single "What Makes You Beautiful".

Di atas panggung, One Direction mengucapkan terima kasih mereka kepada semua fans yang sudah mendukung mereka selama ini. Mereka juga tak lupa berterima kasih kepada Simon Cowell yang berjasa mengantarkan mereka meraih popularitas tinggi seperti sekarang ini.

Chris Brown dan rapper cewek M.I.A. sama-sama memboyong dua penghargaan di kategori yang berbeda. Chris mendapatkan trofi "Best Male Video" dan "Best Choreography" untuk lagunya, "Turn Up The Music". Sedangkan M.I.A. memboyong trofi "Best Cinematography" dan 'Best Direction" lewat single "Bad Girls".

Katy Perry berhasil membawa pulang penghargaan di kategori "Best Art Direction". Sementara itu Rihanna mendapat trofi bergengsi sebagai 'Video of the Year" lewat video musik "We Found Love".
